Renault, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Tomberlin, Alva and Polaris are planning to sell electric cars this year in Costa Rica.

The main advantage in the Costa Rican market is that the price of the cars will not be higher than $20,000.

However, companies involved in the business are concerned about the government's plans to slap a 10 percent tax on electric cars.
