Spain’s FCC and Brazil’s Odebrecht confirmed as Panama metro winners

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Panama’s government confirmed that Spain’s FCC and Brazil’s Odebrecht have won the contract for the first line of Panama City’s metro.

No claims or protests at the award were received before the deadline that they were set by the terms of the tender.

FCC, of Spain, and Brazil’s Odebrecht placed a $1.45 billion bid, only slightly more than the Italian consortium that was their rival.

But the authorities reckoned that the FCC-Odebrecht bid was superior in technical terms.
