Spanish Mint presents two bids for new identity card in Honduras. Chip could be deciding factor in design

Spain’s Mint, the Real Casa de la Moneda, has made two bids for the contract to design and manufacture a new identity card for Honduras.

The new card in its simplest form, would cost $3 million, or $25 million if it has a chip embedded.

Technicians from the Honduras citizens’ register have made a study of the current ID cards and have presented two options for their replacement.
