Standard and Poor's affirms credit ratings for Costa Rica despite delays on fiscal reforms

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Standard and Poor's Ratings said yesterday that it affirmed its 'BB' long-term and 'B' short-term foreign-currency credit ratings for Costa Rica.

Robust economic growth and political stability continue to support the ratings on the country.

The ratings come despite high fiscal deficits, rising debt burden, and a lack of consensus on passing long-awaited fiscal reforms.
