Strong peso hinders Colombia coffee gains

Gains for Colombian coffee growers amid a surge in international prices this year have been hindered by the country’s strong currency, according to the national federation of Colombian coffee growers, or Fedecafe.
"Colombia still has work to do to secure a more competitive exchange rate,” Fedecafe President Luis Munoz said.
“The strong peso is very problematic, especially for coffee," he added.
