Surge in oil forces Central America to tighten belts

Central American countries have begun to tighten their belts as international oil prices rise in the Libyan crisis.

Honduras launched a packet of measures to conserve fuel, including shorter working hours and restrictions on traffic.

Guatemala has clamped down on abuses by gasoline retailers, and Nicaragua says it will be forced to increase energy tariffs.
