Tahoe seeks silver profits in Guatemala's Escobal
Canadian mining company Tahoe Resources will start construction of what is expected to be one of the most profitable silver mines in the world, Guatemala's El Escobal.
Tahoe Resources will invest $406 million on the project. The company also claims that the project is in a region that supports mining, in a reference to recent issues with the industry in Central America.
El Escobal has 300 million ounces of silver, enough to guarantee production for 19 years.
