Taiwan denies claim of $600 million funding for Guatemala
Official sources in Taiwan are denying reports that Guatemala’s president Jimmy Morales had announced that Taiwan would be assisting the country with a $600 million funding package appeared.
The claims were made in the Guatemalan press. They said, of the $600 million, some $250 million was to be donated, and the rest lent at 1.25 percent for 30 years. They money was to have been used for a four-lane highway.
