Taiwan leader to visit Panama and El Salvador

Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou will visit Panama and El Salvador later this month and through early July, the Asian country's Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

Ma is scheduled to depart June 29 for Panama, where he will attend the inauguration of President-elect Juan Carlos Varela on July 1.

Ma designated Premier Jiang Yi-huah to serve as his special envoy at the June 1 inauguration of El Salvador President Salvador Sanchez Ceren.
