Taiwan president launches visit to Central America

President Ma Ying-jeou  of Taiwan arrived in Guatemala and held talks with President Jimmy Morales as part of his last overseas trip before leaving office in May.

Ma was welcomed with a military ceremony by Morales at the National Palace of Culture. Morales noted that the two countries maintain cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, national security, education and preservation of historical and cultural heritage.
