Telefónica rings bell for investments in Nicaragua

Spain's Telefónica could be one of Nicaragua's most important investors this year, as part of what could become a wave of foreign direct investment for the Central American country.

Nicaragua received $1 billion in foreign investment last year, the smallest amount in the region.

Telefónica has made significant investments in Nicaragua. In the first three months of the year, the company invested $!00 million.
