Telefónica seeks partnerships in Mexico

Spanish telecoms firm Telefónica is seeking possible acquisitions and partnerships in Mexico to expand its presence in a market dominated by Carlos Slim.
The company has approached companies including Iusacell, owned by Grupo Salinas and Grupo Televisa.
Telefónica started operations in Mexico in 2001 with its Movistar brand, and now has some 20 million clients and yearly sales of $2.14 billion.
