Tender for new Panama Canal bridge in a tangle

Monday, July 9, 2018

Conflicts among the authorities and the companies that are competing for the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal are increasingly embroiled.

In the latest development, the consortium of Italy's Astaldi and Daelim of Korea has lodged protests because its $1.21 billion bid was wrongly described as "too risky".

The winning bid was the $1.41 billion of a consortium of China Harbour Engineering and China Communications Construction Company.
