Tourism ad spending pays off for Guatemala
Guatemala saw a 7.7 percent increase in the number of tourists received during the first three months of the year, compared to the same period last year, according to the country's tourism authority, Inguat.
The figure represents a little more than 524,400 tourists from January to March this year, compared to 486,740 for the same period last year.
The growth was the result of a campaign launched by Inguat in media such as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, CNN International, Washington Post and Facebook.
