Thursday, September 27, 2012

Nicaragua registered 11.5 percent growth in tourist arrivals during the first eight months of 2012, and expects to receive more than one million tourists this year, say representatives from the sector.

Some 790 thousand tourists have visited the country between January and August, a growth of 11.5 percent compared with the same period in 2011.

From January to July, 2012, the sector generated revenues valued at $256 million, positioning itself as an area with sustained progress and prospects for growth, the Nicaraguan Tourism Institute said.
