Tourists in Nicaragua spend more but stay less

Tourists visiting Nicaragua in the first quarter this year spent 3.5 percent more than in the same period in 2013, the country's central bank said.

During the period, each tourist spent an average of $42.4 each day.

However, the number of days tourists spend in the country was down from 8.1 days in the fourth quarter 2013, to 7.7 days in the first quarter this year.
