Trade deal didn’t last long, says New York Times

Free trade is good for the United States. So is helping American workers displaced by foreign competition, writes a New York Times editorial.

Therefore, it was a relief to hear on Tuesday about a bipartisan Congressional deal to pass long-delayed trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama.

But the relief didn’t last for long. While the deal was lauded by business groups, Republicans immediately threw up roadblocks.
