Trade in Panama's Colon zone drops 23 percent

Trade in Panama's Colón free trade zone dropped 23.8 percent in this year's first quarter.

During that period, the zone traded goods worth $4.9 billion, down from $6.5 billion in the same period in 2013.

Imports to the zone totaled $2.2 billion, a 27 percent drop compared with the first quarter 2013.
