Uber is still illegal, says Costa Rica transport ministry

A review by Costa Rica’s Public Transportation Council has decided that the ride-hailing service Uber is illegal.

The decision came just days after Costa Rica General Manager Humberto Pacheco met with Transport Ministry officials to discuss Uber’s standing in Costa Rica. Uber service went live there on Aug. 21.
