Uber plans to stay in Colombia despite big fine

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

Ride-sharing service Uber said Monday it plans to stay in Colombia even after the Ports and Transportation Administration fined it $140,000 for operating without authorization, adding that it will take care of "the legal procedures underway."

"Uber has not been notified about the Ports and Transportation Administration's decision. We will analyze its content and act accordingly, respecting the country's institutionalism,” the service founded in San Francisco, California, said.
