UK-based insurance brokers launch Colombian operation

London-based re/insurance broker United Insurance Brokers (UIB) has launched a retail broking business in Colombia.

“Colombia is a stable country with a strong economy which has weathered the recent world recession extremely well and our business there continues to grow profitably,” said Tony Dilley, chief executive of UIB International, noting that Colombia has outperformed other commodity-based economies in the region.
