UN launches international plea over drought

 

The vulnerable communities of Central America are facing a second straight year of drought, the United Nations said in an international plea for support.

“It is essential that the countries and the international community prioritize resources to face the negative impacts caused by the insufficient and irregular rains in the countries of Central America, with both short and long-term measures,” the World Food Program said in a statement.
