United Nations urges Guatemala to attract more investment

The UN Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad) advised Guatemala to strengthen governance to attract more foreign direct investment.

Unctad noted that although Guatemala has modern laws relating to investment, critical policies are yet to be implemented.

It cites the lack of a competition policy and the absence of a national agency to regulate competition.
