US backs $135 million for geothermal in Honduras

OPIC, the US government’s overseas private investment corporation, has approved $135 million in financing for a geothermal project in Honduras.
The financing is for the 35 megawatt Platanares geothermal project by Ormat Technologies. The project will be the first utility-scale geothermal project in Honduras.
