US economist proposes Hong Kong-style “model city” to boost Honduras

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Paul Romer, a US economist, arrives today in Honduras for the official presentation to the government of his plan to make a “model city” in the country, similar to what Hong Kong means for China.

Romer, a Standford University professor, promotes economic development in undeveloped countries.

Under his view, a model city would be a powerful lure for foreign investment and economic dynamism in Honduras, to the benefit of all its inhabitants.
