US trade pact with Panama goes into effect today

The trade promotion accord between Panama and the United States comes into effect today.

Barack Obama signed the agreement yesterday, along with two other accords, with South Korea and Colombia.

The accord will give the United States access to the Panamanian services market, estimated at $20 billion.
