Vietnam gets a foothold in Colombia's shoe market

Vietnam ranks second in footwear exports to Colombia with revenue exceeding $28 million, accounting for 16 per cent of the country's total footwear import value in the first five months of this year.

Latin American countries have emerged as potentially lucrative markets for Vietnam to tap into and possibly help meet the sector's export target of $7.3 billion for 2012.

Vietnam exported over $121 million worth of footwear products to Brazil in the first six months of this year, up 55 per cent against the first half of last year.
