Walmart sales in Central America surge 9 percent

Walmart de México y Centroamérica, known as Walmex, showed a good performance in August, reporting a 10.5 per cent increase in sales compared to the same month last year.
Similarly, during the same month, total sales in its Central American stores increased 9 percent. Walmex also opened 13 new stores in Mexico, and 2 new stores in Nicaragua.
The company is also working on measures to promote transparency and modernizing processes to open new stores, after being accused earlier in the year of corruption, tax evasion and money laundering.
