Walmex to sell apparel chain unit for $852 million

 

Wal-Mart de México y Centroamérica, known as Walmex, has agreed to sell its chain of apparel stores Suburbia to Mexican department store chain Liverpool for $852 million.

The move comes as Walmex seeks to streamline its operations in its largest market outside the U.S.

The deal includes 119 Suburbia stores across Mexico.
