Wine closes the gap with whisky in preferences for consumers in Guatemala

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Figures of imports of alcoholic drinks show changing tastes among consumers in Guatemala.

Increasingly, consumers are preferring  to have a glass of wine rather than one of whisky. The gap between the two beverages has been sharply reduced in recent years.

Last year, wine imports came to $6.1 million compared with $8.3 million of whisky. In the first 10 months of this year, however, wine imports came to $5.6 million compared with $6.1 million of whisky.
