Worker dead in Goldcorp mine in Guatemala

Vancouver-based Goldcorp has confirmed that one worker died in a rockfall at its Marlin gold mine in Guatemala last week.

The Marlin mine has been a source of controversy over the years, facing strong opposition from some locals as well as accusations of environmental damage and lack of indigenous consultations.
