Friday, June 10, 2011

The number of employees in Guatemala’s call centers is growing at 30 percent a year. By now they employ 18,800 people.

More than 60,000 young people turned up seeking jobs at call centers owned by Transactel last year.

The industry was launched in 1996 by Transactel with only six employees. Now there are more than 100 companies.
