Avianca sells Nicaragua company La Costeña

As part of its plan to strip down to its core business, Avianca offered to sell 62 percent of its fleet of private plans, La Costeña, which covers internal flights in Nicaragua.

Colombia-based Avianca has invest3ed $232 million in renewing its Central American fleet with four Airbus A320 NEOs that cost some $58 million per plane.

This year, Avianca has extended its number of flights, above all in North America. For example, flights have been added from El Salvador to Chicago, Boston and Orlando.
