Central American bank lends $30 million for renewable energy firms in Guatemala

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) announced the signing of a loan for $30 million to promote environmental sustainability in Guatemala.

The agreement was established with the Banco Agromercantil, whose funds will encourage investment in small and medium enterprises that promote renewable energy, biodiversity and trade.

The initiatives that will benefit from partial guarantees are those that generate energy through hydro, wind, biomass, geothermal and solar sources.
