Chinchilla urges Costa Rica OECD membership

The president of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, reasserted her interest in making her country a member of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, OECD.

"Costa Rica has always appreciated and valued its relationship with the organization, and is ready to commit to working toward full membership," Chinchilla told the OECD annual forum in Paris.

"We are Latin America's oldest democracy, and the OECD has always given Costa Rica guidance, analysis and inspiration for over 50 years," she added.
