Costa Rica 'could be world leader in water management'

Tuesday 12 February, 2019

Within a context of globalization and climate change, Costa Rica will host in April the fifth Latin American Sanitation Conference.

Conservation of resources, and the achievement of universal access to potable water and sanitation will be the main these of the conference, as well as the study of public-private alliances.

Costa Rica can have a major leadership role in management of the resource, said Yamileth Astorga, president of the nation's water institute, the AyA.

Astorga adds that Costa Rica's investments in water management could create opportunities for biologists, chemists, engineers and other professionals.
