Norway’s Equinor plans to drill for oil in Nicaragua

The Norwegian state oil company Equinor, formerly known as Equinor plans to drill off the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua some time next year.
Equinor and its Nicaraguan equivalent Petronic has been studying the potential of the region for the last two years.
According to Petronic, if all goes well for the drilling, Nicaragua could be looking to recover as much as 300 million barrels of crude.
