Panamá Bilingüe tells it in English

The Panamá Bilingüe program has launched an intensive English-teaching program in Panama state schools.

The program aims to make English the second official language of Panama, and yesterday it was backed by a $125 million contract from the Finance ministry and the regional development bank, CAF.

Last year the program trained 3,000 English teachers in Panama or elsewhere. In addition more than 130,000 students took part in programs held after normal school hours.
