Panama looks to OECD in campaign for transparency

Tuesday 09 October, 2018

As Panama's government aims to protect its financial system from money laundering and taz evasion, it aims to increase its contacts with the OECD.

The aim is to fight the bad image of the country generated by the scandal of the Panama papers.

This week, Isabel de Saint Malo, vice president and foreign minister of Panama, will be meeting with senior officials of the OECD in Paris for
meetings on exchanges of information and fiscal issues.

Panama recently announced that it launched a system of automatic exchange of financial information under the rules demanded by the OECD.
