Panama Papers firm was hacked, says lawyer

Mossack Fonseca, the law firm at the center of the Panama Papers scandal that rocked governments  and financial centres around the world has the certainty that it was the victim of a “highly professional and well-planned information theft” according to a lawyer.

Elías Solano, The Panamanian lawyer who reported last year’s “hacking” of Mossack Fonseca’s database, told Efe  news agency that the investigation, carried out by a prosecutor demonstrates conclusively that the crime was unequivocally executed from outside the country “to extract 11.5 million documents”.
