Sacyr sues Panama in UN tribunal

What was described as the biggest engineering project of the 21st century, the widening of the Panama Canal, has turned into be a major headache for Spanish construction company, Sacyr.

Sacyr has sued Panama in an international arbitration forum of the United Nations. At issue is alleged excessive additional charges for the project.

This suit is in addition to another case in which Sacyr is demanding compensation of some $4 billion from Panama.
