The never-ending dispute over the Panama Canal

Friday 06 July, 2018

n a legal wrangle over cost over-runs, the Spanish consortium led by Sacyr that built the expansion of the Panama Canal is demanding $5.7 billion from the canal authority.

However, the next resolutions on the dispute are not expected till next year, nor is the whole process expected to be resolved until 2021.

The possibilities for a resolution are almost endless, experts say. But while it continues, shares in Sacyr are likely to be depressed.
