Three companies bid for cruise terminal in Guatemala

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Three companies are competing for the award of the construction license for a luxury cruise terminal in Puerto Barrios Bay, Guatemala.

The estimated investment for the project is around $70 million, and it should be ready in no more than two years.

With this project, Guatemala hopes to increase its level of competition in the luxury cruise business at a regional level. During 2011-2012, Guatemala received 48 cruises, down from 94 during 2009-2010.
