WTO snubs Honduras plea over Australian cigarette wrapping

A World Trade Organization panel of experts has decided that complaints from Cuba, Honduras, Indonesia and the Dominican Republic are not valid.

The experts said that the complainants have not provided that the generic packaging of tobacco products in Australia contravened world trade accords.

Australia insists on generic packaging of cigarettes without trade marks and the name of the maker in very small letters.
