Monday, June 27, 2011

The 5 de Noviembre hydroelectric plant in El Salvador is to be extended at a cost of $136 million.

The plant, opened in 1954, is the oldest in the country. The expansion aims to make use of superfluous water from the existing dam.

The project will add 80 megawatts of power and is due to come on stream in 2014.
