$3 billion needed for region’s fight against crime

Central America needs $3 billion to fund plans to combat violence and organized crime, waid Henry Campos, the deputy justice minister of El Salvador.

Campos said that the Central American nations already have offers totaling $2 billion for 22 projects that fight drug trafficking and juvenile gangs.

He was speaking at a meeting in San Salvador of regional justice ministers held by the Central American Integration System.
