$4.5 billion is this year's export target for assembly plants in Honduras

The Honduran assembly plants, known as “maquiladoras”, say they are aiming for $4.5 billion in exports this year, up from $4.1 billion in 2016, the industry association says.

More than 80 percent of the exports are garments; the rest are vehicle harnesses or plastic parts.
