$47 billion in mortgages captured in Panama fair

Panama's council of housing promoters, known as Convivienda, helped boost the country's housing sector with its annual real estate fair.

This year, the banks participating in the fair processed $47 billion in mortgages, said the council's director, Elisa de Gómez.

It is a 27 percent increase compared to last year's event., while the total amount of homes sold in this year's edition was 788, compared with 608 last year.
