$502 billion US annual trade deficit is grist to Donald Trump’s mill

The debate in Mexico and Central America on Donald Trump’s political theories on international commerce has escalated by the revelation that the United States recorded a $502 billion trade gap last year.
In Mexico’s case, the gap was the biggest in five years. In part it was due to the increase in the value of the US dollar.
