$2 billion for mini-hydro schemes in Honduras

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Some 52 developers of small hydroelectric schemes have promised to invest $2 billion over the next six years in Honduras, as part of the projects of the national electricity company, ENEE.

President Porfirio Lobo praised the companies at time when the nation is faced by the most serious political and economic crisis of modern times.

The Honduran Association of Small Energy Producers hopes that the new hydro projects are likely to be on stream with 5 megawatts during 36 months.
